I blinked and it’s December. I could swear it was just February. You too?
.
How on earth is it the last month of 2022?!
.
I had a lot I set out to do this year. The plans have been ambitious, the going? SLOW. While things–cool projects, collaborations, speaking opportunities, workshops, and yeah, getting covid–came up unexpectedly, the truth is I misjudged timelines. It happens because I’m human. You too?
.
While I’m a big fan of short sprints, and really marvel at how much I can get done in short windows of time, I’m not quite as good at estimating how long a bigger project might take. Longer. Dear reader, it always takes longer than I think.
.
My friend Patty Lennon used to advise me to TRIPLE the amount of time I predicted things would take, and she was and still is, so right. When I do that, timing usually works out and I feel like a winner. Learning and re-learning is life-long, am I right?
.
For a second I found myself all bummed about it, BUT in reflection, I did so much (See aforementioned collabs, speaking, projects, etc!). Just not all I planned. I made new friends and connections, have refined a lot of my offerings and systems, and I’m coaching a fascinating range of extremely cool humans. A pretty great year.
.
I’m counting and celebrating every single win, including after so many starts and stops, “Your New Life Blend” podcast is here! The trailer went live a couple of weeks ago, and new episodes are dropping imminently. I can’t wait to share these conversations with you, and I can’t wait for your feedback.
.
Meanwhile, my advice? Spend some time this December focused on what worked, what you loved, and what felt good. It’s so easy to focus on what broke down, and how we failed. There can be important learning from the things that didn’t work, but then let’s move on. Let’s focus on what there is to celebrate.
